In partnership with Transdev and Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW), Liftango is launching a unique on demand public transport service ‘Sports Hopper’, to trial in the Sutherland Shire, Sydney.
The trial is a part of the NSW Government’s On Demand Transport Pilot Program and aims to eliminate weekend stress and parking pain for parents, especially those who have to balance responsibilities with driving their kids to and from sporting grounds.
How does it work?
Sports Hopper is a new On-Demand Public Transport pilot that connects children and parents between Gymea and the Bellingara Netball Courts. Families can now leave the car at home and avoid the stress of finding parking on busy Saturday game days. We highly recommend children travelling on their own keep the device used to book their trip with them as they will receive a notification before their return journey.
Sports Hopper will commence on Saturday 20 July 2019 and operate as a trial for six weeks. Sports Hopper is part of the NSW Government trial of On-Demand Public Transport.
Fares and operating hours
Sports Hopper operates on Saturday from 6.30 am to 5.30 pm. Last pick up from Bellingara Netball Courts is at 4.50 pm.
One way fare:
- Adult $5.00
- Concession $2.50
Bookings can be made using the Sports Hopper App. Children travelling on their own are strongly advised to carry the booking device when travelling to ensure they receive notifications for their trip.
