Analysis of Staff Commuting Habits at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust approached Liftango to help them devise solutions that would make their staff commutes easier and greener.

What’s a Rich Text element?

test caption

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Overview

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust approached Liftango to understand more about their staff commutes to help them devise solutions that would make their staff commutes easier and greener.

Solution

Liftango, together with partners Commutifi, are undertaking an employee transport opportunity analysis for over 20,000 staff across the trust, starting with the Good Hope Hospital in Birmingham. The analysis will use staff commute data alongside public transport network data to identify gaps in the current transport network i.e. which staff have the hardest time getting to work, at what times of day, why etc.

Outcomes

The analysis will identify several high-potential service models for consideration by the NHS designed to help hospital staff better access the site and work towards providing more sustainable/shared transport options for staff.

Whilst the analysis is currently being undertaken, examples of possible solutions that might be relevant for the NHS to consider include:

  • Fixed route and/or dedicated shuttle services
  • On Demand bus services (direct and/or as connectors to existing network services)
  • Carpool software
  • Modes of Active Transport
